I haven't posted anything to a blog for several months and am quite rusty. I wanted to set up a new one to honor my granddaughter, Heather, who named me Prepop. When she began to talk, she tried to call me the French Canadian name: Pepere. Well, it didn't come out quite right.. it came out as Prepop... and I really liked that .. it seemed appropriate.. and it stuck. All of my relatives know me as Prepop and as a Patriarch, I am going to stick with it for the few years left for me in this strangely weird world.
Heather is a genius, of course. She was reading perfectly when she was four years old. I went to a Kindergarten function once, and the only kid of the 40 there who could read was Heather. She carried the whole show.
Heather now works with her partner at a Weiss Market. Once in a while they will put her picture in their advertisements. She sure is a beautiful doll and I am very proud of her.
As I did with my other blog (Joe Reads the News) I will be commenting on the news... however, what makes this blog different is that I will putting my 2 cents in for any and all weird things that float across my desk... here goes:

Some bright lights in Massachusetts recently were caught defrauding the Government by filling bogus prescriptions, using phony names, such as: L.L. Bean, Baby Jesus, Hugh Jass, and Sam Adams. (H.L.Mencken would have loved to have written about this.)
Christmas Season in DC
The Supreme Court ruled that there could not be a nativity scene in DC this year, because it is impossible to find three wise men and a virgin in our Nation's Capitol. However, there was an abundance of asses available to fill the stable if allowed.
