AMAZING FACTS FOR AN OLD MAN

It's kind of fun to think about odd things and situations.  Following is a couple that I have encountered. Where? At my age, I probably can't remember.

1.  O is for Ostrich

One ostrich egg is equal in volume to two dozen chicken eggs!

Me:  "Hey, Bill, why are you walking an ostrich on a leash?"

Bill: "Well, I helped a genie escape from a bottle and in appreciation he allowed me to make a wish that he would make come true."

Me: "What was your wish?"

Bill: "I asked for a chick with long legs."

Me:  "That's sad."

Bill:  "Well, its not so sad because I really do enjoy those enormous omelets every morning."

2.  BS is for Blaze Starr.

Famous Baltimore stripper, Blaze Starr began her career at the age of fifteen, and didn't "hang up her G-string" until the age of fifty, a record for the "workspan" of burlesque queens.

Fannie Belle Fleming was born in West Virginia and besides becoming a famous stripteaser, had an affair with Louisiana Governor Earl Long, and even perhaps a fling with JFK.

Check out a great book by Lauren R, Silberman: "Wicked Baltimore."

My late wife and I met Blaze after she turned fifty. She was selling hand-made jewelry at the Eldersburg, Maryland Mall.  My wife and Blaze became quite friendly. (Although Blaze never taught her any stripper "tricks of the trade. Damn!)

3.  SH is for Sag Harbor

It's hard for me to realize that J. C. Penny would market a line of clothes for women called Sag Harbor.  Isn't that insulting?
