 GRAB BAG

(grab bag = potpourri or a bag containing small articles pulled out without being seen)

KNOTWORDS

I've heard a lot about this word game recently, so I gave it a try today.  My usual time for Wordle is 10 minutes or less; this Knotword puzzle took me 48 minutes! And I still had one word I couldn't figure out. Perhaps I should have read the instructions.

I gave up on Sudoku a long time ago because there always was a point where logic no longer applied and you had to guess. What's the fun in that?

(The ad for KNOTWORDS says that it is part Sudoku.)

While you try to solve this puzzle, nervousness-inducing music plays.  Very irritating to me.

However, I will try again tomorrow, after I read the instructions.

Google

In a movie we watched recently, Maria says: "You think I'm a dummy?  I can do a Google!"

Crossword Puzzles

It bugs me when people say that Crossword Puzzles do not make you smarter.  Check out what I recently learned from one rather easy puzzle:

Kaytranada = EDM (Haitian-Canadian Louis Kevin Celestin is known professionally as Kaytranada.  His musical genre is Electronic Dance Music - EDM - a mix of R'n'B, hip-hop, and soul.)

Mikvehs = baths (used for the purpose of ritual immersion  in Judaism to achieve purity.)

Vacay (vacation) for parents to be = babymoon

(similar to a honeymoon, but for couples who are about to become first-time parents to spend quality time together - before Hell breaks lose.)

Buckwheat noodle = soba (a thin Japanese noodle made from buckwheat, a plant cultivated for its seeds and as a cover crop.  Despite the name, it is not wheat. )

William "Billie" Thomas Jr. portrayed the character of Buckwheat, the lovable African-American child who was a member of  the "Our Gang" films from 1934 to 1944.

Chow from a Halal cart, e.g. = Street Meat

(In  New York City, residents are now flocking to the food trucks serving food combining rice, greens and Halal meat in a foil dish or in a sandwich, topped with red and white sauce.  My nose is almost smelling this delicious food.

Halal means "permissible" and is applied to food that is allowable according to Islamic law.  Pork is forbidden as it is under Kosher rules.

There are several other words and definitions that interested me.
