Cocaine Flotsam; Pig Out; Dolphin Search; Rich Folks; Guiness Level Bag Lady; Guiness Level Old Folks

Rainy day.  Spring Ahead has got me flummoxed, and so I'm way behind in the things I have to do.  Let's pretend this is for Yesterday (which I missed)... I want to keep up a daily schedule, so I will be doubling up soon.

Meanwhile... here are a few items from that "fantastic" New York Post for Saturday, March 12, 2016. If you want to get a different slant on the current news scene, and if you are curious about what really goes on in New York City, I highly recommend subscribing.

Flotsam or jetsam?

Cocaine valued at 600 thousand dollars washed up on a beach in Jupiter Island, Florida.   (I visited Jupiter, Florida once.  I think it is the birthplace of that center-fold guy.  Anyway, it was amazing for me to see half-naked, deep-tanned, deeply wrinkled, old dudes whizzing by on skateboards. What a remarkable place. I wonder if they get a lot of cocaine from the Atlantic Ocean in order to keep them functioning in their old age.)

Rollaids anyone?

A restaurant in England is serving  a 6,000 calorie meal.  If you can chomp your way through it in 20 minutes, it's free. (There is a similar place in Spartanburg, South Carolina.  My son, Chris, was able to eat the giant burger.. at least I think he did.  But then again, my talented son can do everything, including the Rubick's Cube in just a few seconds.  Yes.. he certainly did inherit my great genes.. or maybe he got them from his mother, my beloved late wife, who was way above me in terms of intelligence.)

Secret Weapons?

The Russian Ministry of Defense is seeking dolphins with "good motor skills and perfect teeth" for secret missions.  (Will they be sent out to detect our Navy Seals when they are on a spying mission?  Could be.)

Swells?

Journalist Katie Couric and her financier husband John Molner bought a new home for 12 million dollars.  The home contains:

o  Almost 4,000 square feet of living space

o  Five bedrooms

o  Five bathrooms

o  Heated floors

o  Two refrigerators

o  Two dishwashers

o   Eight-stream shower

o   Gym.

o   Private garden

What!  No swimming pool?

My Treasures

You've heard of "bag-ladies", but this is ridiculous.

There is  one homeless New York City hoarder who lugs around 20 (count 'em) shopping carts filled with her "belongings."

Old-timers

The world's oldest man is a 112 year old Israeli who lived through two world wars and survived Auschwitz.  His first wife and two children were killed by the Nazis.  When he was liberated, he weighed 81 pounds.  There is a woman living in Brooklyn who is the world's oldest woman at 116.

Wow!
