A GLORIOUS FALL DAY!
I'm not a very religious person, but I have always liked this King James Version entry from PSALM 118.24:
"This is the day the Lord has made, We will Rejoice and be Glad in it."
This Psalm was written to praise a creation by a powerful Deity, but however "a day" was created, I'm just happy that I am able to live another one, especially a beautiful sunny day like today.
My "aide" Kathy, says that her church opens each service with this Psalm as a "call and response." The Pastor says the first part, and the Congregation responds with the last.
Today, Kathy drove me to a local Giant supermarket to get my annual flu shot. (Anti-vaxers, do you get flu shots?)
On the way, I marveled again at how the City of Westminster has changed since my last venture into town.
Lots of new stores and offices.
A lack of litter on the roadside.
Traffic moving smoothly.
In Giant, the clerks and pharmacists were polite and helpful. After my shot, I helped Kathy shop for groceries. That was fun for me. I hadn't done any real shopping in three years.
I was excited to find Portuguese rolls and I later used them to create delicious sandwiches for lunch. In fact, they were so good that they had to be accompanied by two bottles of "snake dog."
A wonderful day! I hope you were able to enjoy it too.
