Genealogy; Abduction Case; 3D Printing; Cell Phones; Tasers; Predictions

A nice coolish day!  Lots of sun.  Just like Fall.

I went to our Genealogy Gang meeting this morning and learned some tips on how to get more information about my biological father.  As I expected, I am not alone in a quest like this.  Someone mentioned to me that even though her "father" was there at her birth, he was not her biological father. Her mother gave her a clue and she is pursuing it.

I think that my mother really believed that a certain man was my father.. and she gave me his first name.  However, DNA tests proved otherwise.  Should I go on one of the daily scandal shows?

The Linda Cortile Abduction Case

Linda believed that she had been the subject of alien examination several times in her life.  So, she was not entirely surprised when she sensed a presence in her bedroom, and saw a small creature,.large-headed, with huge black eyes, approaching her bed. She threw a pillow at the creature, and thinks that this made it mad.

In the next little while, she remembers only scattered events; In one, she was seated on a table while small hands or instruments pounded gently up and down her spine.

Under hypnosis, Linda recalled three or fours small figures approaching her bed, moving her into the living room, and then taking her outside, through a closed window, into a bluish white beam of light.  She thinks that she then floated upwards, passing through a circular opening and into a large object hovering just above the building.  Then, she experienced the physical examination, after which, she was abruptly dropped back onto her bed.

At the same time, a police officer and her partner saw an object hovering above a building.  They also claim that they saw a female in bed clothing fly out of the building and into the hovering object.  It disappeared into the river and the officers were too scared to report it.

What do you think?

3D Printing Predicted

In Nick and the Glimmung, by Philip K. Dick, an alien could copy anything it touched.  Now.. that can be done with a 3D Printer.

Hand Held Cell Phones Predicted

In a 1967 guide for Star Trek, one entry showcased a "communicator".  This was defined as "a portable 'intercom' about the size of the hand.  Now, that has come true.

TASERs Predicted

In Tom Swift and His Electric Rifle, by Vicotor Appleton, electric rifle bullets discharge like lightning, and they are invisible.

Many years later, aerospace scientist, Jack Cover invented a stun gun and named it after the Tom Swift books of his  youth.  He called it "Thomas A. Swift's Electric Rifle."

Now...how about that!
